You wouldn't believe it, if I told you, I said to the coast guard as he attached the winch cord round me. To be quite honest, I didn’t know if I believed it myself, I mean who would. The guy tightened the straps round me and then to the board I was on. The man was wearing a blue uniform with a badge I hadn't seen before, he then pressed a button on his watch and I started rising into the air towards what looked like a chopper. My mind was racing, attempting to make sense of my whole experience, then the cold air hit my skin and for the first time in days I felt the pain in my legs, I hadn't noticed it before, I looked down straight away and what I saw, sent a shock through my body, shit my legs? I couldn’t feel them, they were there, but strapped up and tied to a plank. I began to panic waving my arms around frantically. I then discovered that the board I was on had no ropes, how the hell was I moving in mid air. Then I heard a voice, “keep still mate, we've got you.” I felt a hand grab me and draw me into the safety of the chopper. I must of passed out then, because next time I came to. I was sitting in some kind of wheelchair, staring out of a window at he sea in the distance. I didn't know how long I had been sitting there of if I had moved or even eating anything. I wanted to go and look around, but I couldn’t, my body wasn't listing to my commands it was like I was frozen stiff. My only movement was my eyes, I even tried to speak, I tried to scream but nothing came out. What was wrong with me. Then I heard voices behind me speaking. I listen intently. “Well is this the guy then.” A man's voice said “Yes.” A woman answered. “So do we know who he is yet.” “Yes, but that's when it becomes a bit weird.” “What do you mean.” “We found his ID on him, it was strange looking, so we checked the database and this came up.” All I could imagine she was showing him something. “This can't be real.” “That's what I guessed, so I checked again and found some photos and we checked his blood type as well.” “So your telling me that this guy went missing in 2016 in Snowdonia, that's around 100 years ago.” Everything around me seemed to stop when I heard those words. I wanted to scream out, what the hell had happened, was I dreaming or was I still lost in the place below.

- World Book Day 4th March 2021
World Book Day changes lives through a love of books and shared reading. Our mission is to promote reading for pleasure, offering every child and young person the opportunity to have a book of their own. Reading for pleasure is the single biggest indicator of a child’s future success – more than their family circumstances, their parents’ educational background or their income. We want to see more children, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, with a life-long habit of reading for pleasure and the improved life chances this brings them. Designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading, World Book Day is marked in over 100 countries around the globe. World Book Day | World Book Day is a registered charity. Our mission is to give every child and young person a book of their own.

Some are just looking and thinking about life, overs are looking for inspiration. For some it can be their only get away from the actual world within the walls of their home. A child sits by a window, outside he can see the busy streets below, people going about their life’s. they don’t know he’s there; he watches as a man stands on the street corner reading his newspaper. Is he waiting for a ride, why has he stopped there? Why didn’t he sit on the bench by the bus stop, it was empty? The boy notices, he not reading the newspaper, but looking over the top of it at the building across the street. Just from the above paragraph, you can see the boy is looking beyond the window and sees things he wouldn’t notice if he was on the street below. The guy reading the newspaper, may not be doing anything at all. But the boy’s mind is now building a story.
